why you need our Programme
Our 4-stage programme can reduce harm and increase health and safety for employees. An employee who is not focused on work is a risk to both them and to others.
By equipping staff with the skills to recognise that someone is not ok, employers can reduce the risk of a workplace incident and take their learnings home and back to their communities.

Our Programme
Along with A-OK.NZ, Mates4Life Hawke’s Bay have developed a four-stage programme to facilitate workplace training.

Kaiawhina Haumaru - Safety Aider Workshop

“The training was well received; people have come away feeling more comfortable to start a conversation with someone at work. It has also given them the tools to connect with a friend or family member who may be suffering. The more people talking about mental health, suicide awareness and prevention the more likely we will be able to reduce these numbers. The Mates4Life programme better equips people with the skills to start conversations and keep someone safe.”
